I build and maintain Pikkit — every tool on the site, the checks that verify them, and the guides that explain the ideas behind them. I started it in 2026 because the converter sites I kept landing on uploaded my files, buried the button under ads and got the maths wrong; the answer was a set of tools that run entirely in the browser and say honestly what they can and can't do.

Every guide on this site carries my byline because I wrote it and I stand behind it. Each one lists the sources its claims rest on, states the date it was last checked, and links to the tool it explains — which I also built, so the explanation and the implementation come from the same understanding. Where a topic touches health, money or law, the guide says plainly that it is general information and points to a professional.

How the guides are written and checked

The process is described in full in the editorial standards: every factual claim is traced to a primary source where one exists (standards bodies, government agencies, the original research paper) or to a stable reference work; every formula is cross-checked against the site's own tool, which is itself verified against independently computed values; and corrections sent to the contact address are made in the article with its updated date changed.
