Local-only is the point โ and the caveat
Notes live in this browser's local storage on this device: no account, no server, no sync, nothing transmitted. That makes the notepad instant and genuinely private โ and defines its limits honestly. Notes do not follow you to other devices. Private windows forget on close. Clearing this site's browsing data deletes them permanently, with no recovery, because there is nowhere to recover from.
So: drafts, dictated phone numbers, text mid-reformat, thinking space โ yes. The only copy of anything important โ no; download it. When a note needs cleaning up, the text cleaner strips the mess, the word counter gives full statistics, and markdown preview renders a draft written in Markdown.

Where are my notes stored?
In your browser's local storage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded โ which also means notes don't sync to other devices.
Will my notes survive closing the browser?
Yes, in a normal window โ they reload next visit. Private/incognito windows discard them on close, and clearing site data deletes them permanently.
Is there a size or note limit?
Up to eight notes, and browsers allow several megabytes of text โ years of typing. The practical limit is that this is a scratchpad, not an archive: download what matters.
Can anyone else see my notes?
Only someone using this same browser profile on this device. They never cross the network, but a shared computer is a shared notepad.
