Meme Generator
Classic top and bottom text on your own image. No watermark.
Making a meme
Drop in an image, type the top and bottom lines, download the PNG. The styling is the canonical format — Impact, white with black outline, uppercase — with sliders for size and outline weight, automatic wrapping for long lines, and no watermark, because your meme is yours. Everything renders locally in your browser.
The format, and using it responsibly
The top-text/bottom-text image macro dates from mid-2000s message boards, and its look is strict for a reason: Impact's heavy strokes plus a black outline stay legible on any image at any size, and the setup/punchline structure maps onto the two lines. Break the format knowingly or follow it exactly — half-measures read as ads.
Downscale before posting if the platform will crush the image anyway — the image resizer does it — and remember that memes built on photos of private individuals travel further than intended: the blur tool exists for faces, and the image size guide covers each platform's crop. Trademarked characters and paparazzi shots carry the usual rights caveats — for private group-chat laughs nobody minds; for commercial use, they do.
Frequently asked questions
Is this meme generator really free with no watermark?
Yes — the PNG is clean. Rendering happens in your browser, so there is no service to pay for and no branding to remove.
What font do memes use?
Impact — the heavy 1965 display face whose thick strokes survive any background with a black outline. It ships on virtually every system.
Why is meme text uppercase?
Convention from the earliest image macros, kept because Impact's capitals are its most legible form at meme sizes. The checkbox turns it off.
Is my image uploaded?
No — the image and text are composited on a canvas locally, and the download comes straight from your browser.
