Vibration Test
Check if your phone can vibrate from the browser and play vibration patterns.
About this tool
The page first tells you whether your browser supports vibration. Tap a preset to feel a short buzz, a long buzz, a double tap, a heartbeat, a ramp or SOS in Morse code, or type your own pattern of milliseconds and press Play custom. A circle pulses in time with each pattern, so you can see it even where vibration is not supported.
How web vibration works
Web pages use the Vibration API to buzz a phone's motor. A pattern is a list of times in milliseconds that alternates between vibrating and pausing, so "300, 100, 300" buzzes for 300 ms, pauses for 100 ms and buzzes again. Support is the main limit. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Samsung Internet on Android can vibrate the phone, but Safari and every other browser on iPhone and iPad cannot, and most laptops and desktops have no vibration motor. Browsers also only allow vibration after you have tapped the page. If a supported phone stays still, check that silent, do-not-disturb or battery-saver modes are not blocking it, and look for vibration or haptics options in the system settings. If the phone does not vibrate in any app, including for calls and notifications, the motor may be faulty and need repair. Honest limits: the strength of the buzz is set by the phone, and a web page cannot change it. Nothing is stored or sent. The touchscreen test checks touch input, the speaker test checks sound and the Morse code translator explains the SOS pattern. The Morse code alphabet lists every letter.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't my iPhone vibrate on this page?
Safari and the other browsers on iPhone and iPad do not support the web Vibration API, so pages cannot vibrate iOS devices.
How do I write a custom vibration pattern?
List times in milliseconds separated by commas, alternating vibrate and pause. For example, 500, 200, 500 buzzes twice with a short gap.
My Android phone doesn't vibrate. What should I check?
Make sure silent, do-not-disturb and battery-saver modes are off and vibration is enabled in settings. If nothing vibrates in any app, the motor may be faulty.
Is anything saved?
No. Nothing is stored or sent.
