What a payslip needs โ and what this tool will not do
A payslip, or pay stub, tells an employee what they earned, what was deducted and what was paid. Small employers, households paying a nanny, carer or cleaner, and contractors documenting their own pay often need one without buying payroll software. The essentials are the employer and employee names, the pay period and date, each earning (basic pay, hours and rate, overtime, bonus), each deduction (income tax, social security or National Insurance, pension, other), gross and net pay. Many countries legally require specific items โ in the UK, for example, the hours worked must be shown when pay varies by time โ so check the rules where you employ. The important limit: this tool does not calculate tax, social security or pension, because those depend on country, tax code and thresholds that change every year. Does this calculate tax and National Insurance?
No. Tax and social security depend on your country, the employee's tax code and current thresholds. Enter the amounts from your payroll provider, accountant or official calculator.
Can I enter hours and a rate instead of an amount?
Yes. Leave the amount empty and fill in hours (or units) and rate; the line is calculated as hours ร rate.
How do I save it as a PDF?
Click Print and choose โSave as PDFโ. Only the payslip prints, without the form.
Is the employee's information uploaded?
No. Everything stays in this browser's local storage until you clear it.
