Days Since

Live day counts since any date — anniversaries, streaks, milestones.

About this counter

Pick a date, see the days — plus weeks, years, and approaching round-number milestones. Pin the dates that matter and they live on this device as a dashboard of counters: day counts that survive reloads and quietly grow.

The psychology of counting up

Day-counting works because it makes an abstraction concrete: "I quit" is a fact, but "847 days" is a possession — which is why recovery communities, new parents and long-distance couples all count days. The milestone flag (day 1,000 approaching!) exists because round numbers are genuine psychological events worth a small celebration — the streak literature suggests marking them strengthens the underlying habit. Direction matters for tools: future dates belong to the countdown, day gaps between two arbitrary dates to date difference, and daily-action streaks with checkboxes to the habit tracker — this one is for the dates that only happen once and then accumulate. Pinned dates stay on this device only.

Frequently asked questions

How many days since I quit / we met / I started?

Pick the date and read the live count — plus weeks and years. Pin it and the counter persists on this device, growing daily.

Are my pinned dates private?

Yes — they're stored only in this browser on this device, never uploaded. Clearing site data removes them.

What are the milestone flags?

Approaching round-thousand days (1,000, 2,000…) get a heads-up so the big ones don't slip past — day 10,000 of a life deserves cake.

What's the difference from the date difference calculator?

This counts from a date to TODAY, live and pinnable; date difference measures between any two fixed dates. Anniversaries live here; project durations live there.
