Cover Letter Builder
A structured cover letter from your own details in three tones — no AI filler.
About this tool
Fill in your details, the role and company, an opening hook, why you want this job, one result per line and your key skills. The letter assembles live in the tone you pick, with a word count and length guidance; copy it, print or save it as PDF, or download text. The draft stays in this browser.
What makes a cover letter work
Recruiters skim cover letters in seconds, and the ones that work follow the same shape: who you are and what you're applying for in the first two sentences, why this company in particular — something specific from their product, news or values, not ‘I've always admired your brand’ — then two or three results with numbers that match what the advert asks for, and a short, confident close. Keep it under a page, roughly 250–400 words. The tone switch changes the connecting sentences, not your content, because the content is what gets interviews. There is deliberately no AI writing here: generic generated letters are easy to spot and say nothing a hiring manager can check. Address a named person where you can find one, mirror two or three key phrases from the job description (applicant tracking systems look for them), and save the letter as a PDF named with your name and the role. The résumé builder makes the CV (How to write a résumé that both software and recruiters can read), the readability checker and the word counter polish the text, and the email signature generator finishes the email you send it with.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a cover letter be?
One page — around 250 to 400 words in three or four short paragraphs. The tool shows the word count as you write.
Who should I address it to?
The hiring manager by name if you can find them on the job advert, LinkedIn or the company site; otherwise ‘Dear Hiring Manager’ or ‘Dear Hiring Team’.
Does it use AI to write the letter?
No. It arranges your own words into a proven structure, so the letter is specific to you and the job.
Is my information uploaded?
No. The draft is saved in this browser only and never sent anywhere.
