Word Scramble
Unscramble everyday words against your streak โ hints if you must.
About this game
Common words, scrambled; type your answer and it auto-checks at full length. Hints reveal the opening letters (at streak-pride cost), re-jumble redeals the same letters, and streak plus best live on this device. Three lengths from warm-up fives to serious sevens.
Why your brain locks up (and the fix)
Anagram research has a finding every player recognises: once you've read a jumble a few times, your brain COMMITS to that letter order and solutions hide โ which is why the re-jumble button genuinely helps, giving the pattern system a fresh arrangement to chew. Solver technique from the word-game world: hunt common endings first (-ING, -ER, -TION), pair consonants that travel together (TH, CH, ST), and slide vowels between them. All answers here are everyday words โ no dictionary bombs โ so every miss was solvable, which keeps the streak honest. Word guess adds deduction, hangman adds jeopardy, and word search is the meditative end of the shelf.
Frequently asked questions
How do hints work?
Each hint reveals the next opening letter of the answer. Run out of letters to reveal and the word is shown โ but the streak resets, so hints are a mortgage, not a gift.
Why does re-jumbling the same letters help?
Your pattern system fixates on the arrangement it has stared at โ a documented anagram effect. A fresh shuffle breaks the fixation; it's legal and encouraged.
Are the words obscure?
No โ all lengths draw from common everyday vocabulary, so every puzzle is solvable on knowledge you already have. The challenge is untangling, not vocabulary.
Is my streak saved?
Streak and best persist on this device only. Skipping or exhausting hints resets the streak โ that's the tension that makes it a game.
