Nothing is fetched from the internet.

How Open Graph tags control link previews

When a link is shared, social networks and messaging apps read the page's Open Graph tags to build the preview card. The key tags are og:title, og:description, og:image and og:url, and X also reads twitter:card. Without them, platforms guess from the page title and description and often show a plain link with no image, which gets far fewer clicks. The safe image is 1200 ร— 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 ratio, kept to a few hundred kilobytes and served over https with an absolute URL. Keep the title under about 60 characters and the description under about 160, because longer text is cut off, and LinkedIn often shows only the title. Each platform crops and lays out cards differently, which is why seeing them side by side helps. Platforms also cache cards, so after fixing tags use their own tools, such as the Facebook Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn Post Inspector, to refresh the preview. The meta tag generator writes the full tag set, the social image generator makes a 1200 ร— 630 card and the image resizer fixes the size. How to write a meta description: length, structure, and when Google ignores it and How long should a title tag be? Pixels, not characters cover the text.
