Designing a letterhead
A letterhead makes letters, quotes and notices look professional and makes it easy for people to reply. It usually carries your name or business name, an optional tagline, and your contact details: address, phone, email and website. In many countries business letters also need legal details, such as a UK limited company's registered name, number and registered office, or a VAT number, which belong in the footer. Choose a layout: left aligned for a modern look, centred for a traditional one, or split with the name on the left and contacts on the right. A single accent colour carries through the initials badge, the name and the rule under the header. Keep it simple, with plenty of white space for the letter itself. Print a stack of blank letterheads to handwrite or overprint, tick 'writing lines' for handwritten notes, or save it as a PDF. Honest limits: to type letters directly onto the design, recreate it as a template in your word processor using these details. Check what your country requires on business stationery, and note that fonts depend on your device. The business card generator and the email signature generator are related.
