Job Application Tracker
Track applications by stage with follow-up dates, response rate and CSV export.
About this tool
Add each application with the company, role, date applied, stage (saved, applied, phone screen, interview, offer, rejected or withdrawn), the date of your next step or follow-up, the job ad link and notes. The summary shows applications sent, response rate, interview rate, offers and overdue follow-ups, which are outlined in red. Filter by stage and download everything as a CSV. Your list is saved in this browser only.
How to run an organised job search
A job search is a pipeline, and tracking it turns a stressful blur into something you can manage and improve. Log every application the day you send it, along with where you found it and who you spoke to, so you're never caught out when a recruiter calls weeks later. Set a follow-up date: about a week after applying if you haven't heard back, and within 24 hours after an interview for a thank-you. Your numbers tell you what to fix. A low response rate (the share of applications that get any answer) usually points to the CV, cover letter or the roles you're targeting. Responses without interviews suggest your screening calls need work, and interviews without offers point to interview practice. In the example, three of four applications got a response (75%) and two reached an interview stage (50%). Quality usually beats volume: tailored applications to well-matched roles do better than mass-applying. Honest limits: the tracker lives in this browser only, isn't synced between devices and is deleted if you clear site data, so download a CSV backup regularly. The cover letter builder, the interview question generator and the follow-up email generator help at each stage.
Frequently asked questions
How do I track my job applications?
Log the company, role, date, stage, next step date, link and notes for each one, and update the stage as you hear back.
What is a good response rate for job applications?
It varies widely by field and seniority. A low rate usually means it's worth tailoring your CV and the roles you target.
Where is my data stored?
In this browser only, using local storage. It's never uploaded, isn't synced, and is deleted if you clear site data.
Can I export my applications?
Yes. Download a CSV that opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers.
