Cash Flow Forecast
Twelve months of money in and out with recurring lines, a chart and the low point.
About this tool
Start with today's bank balance and the first month, then add money-in and money-out lines that repeat monthly, quarterly, yearly or once, each starting in any month. The forecast shows opening, in, out, net and closing for every month, a chart of the balance, totals for the year and the lowest balance with its month. Saved in this browser; export CSV.
Why profitable businesses run out of cash
Profit and cash are different things. A business can be profitable on paper and still unable to pay wages in March because the quarterly tax bill, the annual insurance and a client paying 60 days late all land in the same month. A cash flow forecast puts each amount in the month the money actually moves โ when the customer pays, not when you invoice; when the supplier is paid, not when you order โ and shows the low points before they arrive, while there is still time to chase a payment, move a purchase or arrange an overdraft. Freelancers use the same view for irregular income, and households for annual bills. Review it monthly and replace forecasts with actuals as they happen. Honest notes: it is a cash view, not a profit-and-loss statement, so it ignores depreciation and accruals; and it is only as good as the timing you enter. Saved locally, never uploaded. The startup runway calculator projects growth rates, the budget planner handles household budgets, the break-even calculator covers fixed costs, and the invoice generator gets the money in.
Frequently asked questions
What is a cash flow forecast?
A month-by-month projection of the money coming into and going out of a bank account, starting from today's balance, showing the closing balance each month.
How is it different from a budget or a P&L?
A budget plans spending; a profit-and-loss statement measures profit when income is earned. A cash flow forecast tracks when money actually moves, which is what decides whether bills can be paid.
Can I add an annual or one-off payment?
Yes. Set a line to yearly or once and choose its month; quarterly lines repeat every three months from their start month.
Is my financial data uploaded?
No. The forecast is saved in this browser's local storage only. Export a CSV to share it with your accountant.
