Working Days Calculator
Business days between dates, or a deadline N working days from now.
About this calculator
Two modes: count the working days between dates (with or without the endpoints โ contracts differ, so it's a switch), or start from a date and add N business days to find a deadline. Weekends are configurable โ Saturday/Sunday by default, Friday/ Saturday for much of the Middle East, Sunday-only for six-day weeks.
Holidays, and why we don't guess them
Public holidays are deliberately not subtracted. They differ by country, region and year โ and a tool that silently used the wrong country's calendar would produce confident wrong answers on exactly the questions (contract deadlines, notice periods, delivery promises) where wrong is expensive. The honest workflow: get the working-day count here, glance at your local holiday calendar for any that fall in the range, and subtract them. One more convention worth knowing: "5 business days" in most legal and shipping contexts means five full business days after the trigger date, which is exactly how the add mode counts. Plain calendar-day gaps live in the date difference calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Do you subtract public holidays?
No โ they vary by country, region and year, and a wrong holiday list is worse than none. Count the working days here, then subtract any local holidays that fall inside your range.
Does the count include the start and end dates?
Your choice โ there's a toggle, because conventions differ. Legal and shipping usage usually excludes the trigger date and counts full days after it, which is how the add-days mode works.
Can I use a Friday-Saturday weekend?
Yes โ weekends are configurable: Saturday/Sunday, Friday/Saturday, or Sunday only for six-day working weeks.
How many working days are in a year?
260 or 261 for a Monday-Friday week (365 or 366 minus 104-105 weekend days), before subtracting your country's public holidays โ typically 8-12 of which land on weekdays.
