About this generator
Fill in name, phone, email โ whatever you want to share โ and get a QR code that phones recognise as a contact card: scan, and "Add contact" appears with the fields pre-filled. The code carries a standard vCard 3.0, the same format contact apps exchange, so it works across iPhone and Android without an app.

Where a contact QR earns its keep
Business cards (print it on the back and nobody retypes your details), email signatures, conference badges, shop counters, CV headers. Two pieces of honest advice: keep it lean โ every field grows the code, and a code with three fields scans faster from further away than one carrying your full address history; and remember the data is baked in, so a changed phone number means a reprinted code โ there's no server copy to edit, which is precisely the privacy feature. Do phones need an app to scan a vCard QR?
No โ iPhone and Android camera apps both recognise vCards natively and offer to add the contact with fields pre-filled. Very old phones may need a QR scanner app.
Is my contact information uploaded anywhere?
No. The code is generated in your browser and the details live only inside the QR pattern itself โ there's no server copy, no link that can expire, and nothing for anyone to take down or leak.
What happens if my details change?
Reprint โ the data is baked into the code, so an old code keeps offering the old details. That's the flip side of it needing no server.
Why should I keep the vCard short?
More data means a denser code, and denser codes need to be bigger or closer to scan reliably. Name, one number, one email and a website scan beautifully at business-card size.
