Text Extractor

Pull emails, URLs, phone numbers, hashtags, dates and amounts out of any text.

About this tool

Paste any text, such as an email thread, a web page, a document, a chat export or a log file. Tick the kinds of item you want and each one gets its own list with a count and a copy button. Duplicates are removed by default, and you can sort the results or download them all as a CSV.

How the extractor finds things

Each type of item has a recognisable shape, and the extractor matches those shapes. An email address is name@domain.tld. A link starts with http://, https:// or www. A phone number is 7 to 15 digits, with optional +country code, brackets, spaces, dots or dashes. Hashtags start with #, @mentions with @, and an IPv4 address is four numbers from 0 to 255 separated by dots. Dates can be written as 2026-11-03, 03/11/2026, 4 Nov 2026 or Nov 4, 2026, and money amounts as Β£12,500, $3,200 or 40 EUR. In the sample text, the tool finds two email addresses, one link, one phone number, both dates, both amounts, two hashtags, a mention and a server IP. Ana's address appears twice with different capitals but is listed once, because emails are lowercased before duplicates are removed. Full stops and brackets at the end of a link are trimmed, so a link that ends a sentence still works. Typical uses: collecting contact details from a signature dump, pulling every link out of notes, listing the hashtags in a campaign or grabbing IPs from a log. Honest limits: pattern matching doesn't understand meaning, so long order numbers can look like phone numbers, 03/11 is March 11 in the US but 3 November in the UK, and unusual formats can be missed. Only email people who've agreed to hear from you. The email list cleaner, find and replace and word frequency are related, and A regex cheat sheet that explains itself explains the patterns behind tools like this.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract all email addresses from text?

Paste the text with Emails ticked. Every address is listed once, lowercased, ready to copy or download as CSV.

Can it pull links out of a web page?

Yes. Paste the page text or its HTML source and tick URLs. Trailing punctuation is trimmed automatically.

Why did a number show up as a phone number?

Any run of 7 to 15 digits with phone-style separators matches. Check the list and delete false matches such as order numbers.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Extraction runs in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
