Shoe Size Converter
US, UK, EU and cm shoe sizes side by side, for men's and women's fits.
About this converter
Pick your system and size, get the equivalents in all four — US, UK, EU and centimetres (which is also the Japanese system) — with the full chart highlighted at your row. Men's and women's tables are separate because the systems are: a US women's 8 and a US men's 8 are different shoes.
The only measurement that never lies
Size numbers are conventions; centimetres are your foot. To measure: stand on paper (sitting understates the load-bearing foot), mark heel and longest toe, and measure in the afternoon — feet swell through the day. Add roughly 1 cm of room for the shoe. Armed with that number, buy anywhere: it's what the JP column means natively, and it's the tiebreaker whenever a brand's sizing "runs small". Which they do — charts describe the standard, and brands drift up to half a size around it, so between sizes, size up. Converting the units themselves (cm to inches and back) is the unit converter's job.
Frequently asked questions
What is a US women's 8 in EU?
EU 38.5-39, UK 6, and about 24.1 cm of foot — women's chart. The men's US 8 is a different size entirely (EU 41), which is why the charts are separate.
How do I measure my shoe size at home?
Stand on paper, mark heel to longest toe, measure in centimetres in the afternoon (feet swell), and add about 1 cm of room. That cm figure converts through the chart to every system.
Why do sizes differ between brands?
Charts standardise the systems, but lasts (the forms shoes are built on) are each brand's own — drift of up to half a size is normal. The cm measurement is the portable truth; between sizes, size up.
Are UK and US sizes the same?
No — US men's sizes run about one higher than UK (US 9 ≈ UK 8.5), and US women's about two higher than UK. EU sizes are a separate scale again.
