Round Robin Scheduler

League fixtures where everyone plays everyone, with byes, home/away and dates.

About this tool

Enter the teams or players one per line, tick home and away for a double round robin, and optionally set the first round's date and the days between rounds. Every round is listed with its fixtures and any bye; print it or export a CSV for a spreadsheet or calendar.

How the circle method works

A round robin is the fairest league format: everyone plays everyone, so the table reflects consistency rather than the luck of a draw. With N teams there are N(N โˆ’ 1)/2 matches โ€” 10 for five teams, 45 for ten โ€” played over N โˆ’ 1 rounds, or N rounds when N is odd, because one team rests each round. The schedule is built with the circle method: write the teams in two rows, keep one fixed and rotate the rest one place each round. That guarantees each pair meets exactly once and nobody plays twice in a round. Home and away are alternated to keep each team's split as even as possible, and the double round robin repeats the schedule with every fixture reversed so each pairing is played at both grounds. Adding dates turns the rounds into a calendar you can share. The tournament bracket generator handles knockouts, the team generator makes teams, the scoreboard keeps score, the calendar prints the month, and the permutation and combination calculator explains the match count.

Frequently asked questions

How many games are in a round robin?

N(N โˆ’ 1)/2 for a single round robin โ€” 6 for 4 teams, 28 for 8 โ€” and twice that for home and away.

What happens with an odd number of teams?

A bye is added, so one team rests each round. Every team gets exactly one bye in a single round robin.

How are home and away decided?

They alternate by round so each team's home and away games are as balanced as possible. The first team named in each fixture is at home.

Can I export the fixtures?

Yes โ€” download a CSV with round, date, home and away, or print the schedule. Nothing is uploaded.
