About this print sheet maker
Choose a sheet โ 4ร6 inch photo paper, 5ร7, A4, Letter, A5 or A6 โ and a photo size, and as many copies as will fit are laid out automatically. The tool tries the photo both ways up and keeps whichever orientation fits more.
Drop in one photo and it is repeated across the whole sheet; drop in several and they are placed in turn. Cut marks, gaps and margins are all adjustable, and the sheet downloads as PNG, JPEG or โ for A4 and Letter โ a PDF.
Printing at the right size
The sheet is generated at the exact pixel count for its physical size: a 4ร6 inch sheet at 300 dpi is 1800ร1200 pixels. That only survives the trip to paper if your print dialog is set to 100% or "actual size".
"Fit to page", "scale to fit" and "shrink oversized pages" all resize the sheet by a few per cent โ invisible on a holiday snap, and enough to fail a passport measurement. Turn them off, print one sheet, and measure a photo with a ruler before cutting the rest.
Choosing a resolution
300 dpi is the standard target for photographic printing and is what you want in almost every case. 600 dpi quadruples the file size and only helps if your printer genuinely resolves that much detail and your source photo has it to give. 150 dpi is for drafts and proofs.
Print on photo paper with borderless printing switched off โ borderless mode scales the page up slightly to guarantee edge coverage, which is the same problem as "fit to page" wearing a different hat. For passport and visa photos, crop first with the passport photo maker, which handles the size and head-height rules, then tile the result here.

How many passport photos fit on a 4ร6 print?
Six 35 ร 45 mm photos, at the default 5 mm margin and 2 mm gap โ eight if you set both to zero and cut carefully. An A4 sheet takes thirty. The exact count is shown under the preview and updates as you change the settings.
Why must I print at 100%?
Any scaling changes the physical size. โFit to pageโ typically shrinks by two or three per cent, which is enough for a passport photo to be measured as wrong.
What dpi should I use?
300 dpi for normal photo printing. 600 only helps if your printer and your source photo both have the detail to justify it, and it quadruples the file size.
Can I mix different photos on one sheet?
Yes. Add several photos and they are placed in turn across the sheet, repeating in order until the sheet is full.
