Pixel Art Editor
Draw pixel art on an 8, 16 or 32 grid and export a crisp transparent PNG.
About this editor
A small, focused pixel-art studio: pick a grid, draw with pencil, eraser and flood fill, choose from a palette or any colour, and export a transparent PNG scaled so every cell is a perfect square. Nothing to install, nothing uploaded.
Small canvases, big results
Pixel art's charm is its constraint: at 16×16 every pixel is a decision, which is why the form produced icons that still read at a glance decades later. This editor keeps the tools to the ones the craft actually uses — pencil for placing, eraser for undoing, flood fill for areas — plus a palette chosen for readable contrast and a custom picker for everything else. Export scale is the trick that makes the results usable: a 16-cell sprite exported at 16× becomes a sharp 256-pixel image with hard edges, right for favicons, game sprites, avatars, Discord emoji and stickers. The checkerboard shows the transparent background that exports with the file. Honest scope: this is a sketchpad, not a full editor — no layers, no animation frames, and the drawing lives only on this page until you download it. The pixel art scaler enlarges finished work further without blur, the GIF maker animates a sequence of frames, and the favicon generator turns a sprite into a full icon set.
Frequently asked questions
Is my drawing saved?
Only while the page is open — refresh and it's gone, so download what you like. There's no account and nothing is stored.
What size should I draw at?
16×16 is the classic favicon and emoji size and the best place to learn; 32×32 for characters and detailed icons; 8×8 for the purist challenge.
Why is the export so much bigger than the grid?
Each cell becomes a block of the export scale — 16 cells × 16 px = 256 px. That's how pixel art is meant to be shown: scaled up with hard edges, never blurred.
Can I make animations?
Not here directly — draw each frame, download it, then combine the frames in the GIF maker.
