Reverse PDF

Flip the page order, last page first โ€” the backwards-scan fix.

About this tool

One job, done instantly: page order reversed, last page first. Drop, click, download. Pages are copied untouched, so the reversal is lossless and works on any size of document.

Why documents come out backwards

Two everyday machines produce backwards documents. Sheet-fed scanners that grab from the bottom of the pile scan your stack in reverse โ€” the document is perfect except it ends with page one. And printers that stack output face-up deliver page one at the bottom, so the pile you pick up (and sometimes re-scan) is back to front. Both are one click here. The distinction worth knowing: reversal fixes ORDER, not orientation โ€” pages that are upside-down or sideways want the rotate tool instead, and a document that's scrambled rather than reversed wants the organizer's thumbnails. Fronts and backs in two separate files is the third classic scan mishap โ€” that's interleave. Between the four tools, every way a scanner can shuffle paper has an unshuffling.

Frequently asked questions

Does reversing lose any quality?

No โ€” pages are copied byte-faithfully into the new order. Text, images and bookmarks-per-page survive untouched.

My pages are backwards AND upside down โ€” now what?

Two passes: reverse here, then 180ยฐ in the rotate tool (or the other order โ€” they don't interfere). Sheet-fed scanners often produce exactly this combo.

Why do printers stack pages backwards?

Face-up output stacks page one at the bottom. Most drivers offer reverse-order printing to compensate; when a PDF has already been made from such a stack, reversing the file fixes it for good.

Is there a size limit?

No โ€” reversal is a copy operation, fast even on hundreds of pages, all on your device.
