The colours are real engineering, not vibes
Noise colours name spectral shapes. WHITE noise carries equal energy at every frequency โ the full-spectrum hiss of radio static, and the brightest of the three because human hearing bunches high frequencies together perceptually. PINK noise carries equal energy per OCTAVE, matching how hearing actually organises pitch โ which is why it sounds naturally balanced, and why it's the standard calibration signal audio engineers sweep through PA systems and studio monitors. BROWN noise (named for Brownian motion, not the colour) rolls off harder still โ the deep rumble of surf or a distant engine, the crowd favourite for sleep because it masks door slams and traffic with the least hiss. Generated noise has two virtues over recorded rain: it contains no pattern for the brain to latch onto, and it loops perfectly since no moment differs statistically from any other.
