The lookalikes, and why flags rhyme
Flags cluster in families for historical reasons, and the families are where scores die: the Nordic crosses (Denmark's is the oldest national flag still in use, ~1219); the pan-Slavic red-white-blues (Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia โ genuinely cruel in quiz form); the pan-African green-yellow-red (Ghana started it, honouring Ethiopia's never-colonised banner); and the pan-Arab palette. The individual traps every player hits: Ireland/Ivory Coast (mirrored), Netherlands/Luxembourg (shade of blue), Romania/Chad (nearly identical, a genuine diplomatic grumble), and Australia/New Zealand (count the stars, check for red). Why do flags show as letters on my device?
