Add your photos, choose a shape and a number of columns, and they are laid out into a grid you can adjust: spacing between photos, a border around the outside, rounded corners and a background colour. Reorder with the arrows on each thumbnail, or shuffle them.
Output shapes cover where collages usually end up β square for an Instagram post, 4:5 portrait for maximum feed space, 9:16 for a story, 4:3 and 16:9 for everything else.
How the photos are fitted
Each photo is centre-cropped to fill its cell rather than letterboxed inside it. That keeps the grid even no matter what mix of portrait and landscape shots you drop in, at the cost of trimming the edges of some.
If a particular photo needs a specific part kept, crop it first so the centre of your crop is the part you want in the collage. Photos are also processed at full resolution and only scaled at the end, so the output stays sharp.
Getting a collage that looks composed
- Even numbers of photos sit better in grids. Four, six and nine fill a square cleanly; five and seven leave a gap.
- Consistent spacing reads as deliberate. A gap of 10β20 px at 1600 px wide is usually right.
- Keep the background simple. White or black works with almost anything; a strong colour competes with the photos.
- Mind the order. The strongest image should go top-left, where the eye lands first.
