The grammar of pointing at pixels
Every annotation is one of a few verbs. The ARROW is โlook hereโ โ the strongest, and the one to ration: one arrow commands, five arrows shout over each other. The BOX is โthis regionโ โ the right verb for form fields, menus, table rows. The CIRCLE is โthis thingโ โ softer than a box, natural for round targets like buttons and faces. TEXT answers the question the shape raises (and here it wears a white halo, so it survives being written over any background โ the detail that separates readable annotations from noise). Red is the conventional look-here colour and earns it; switch colours when annotating something red. The tool scales stroke width with image size, so marks on a 4K screenshot don't come out hairline โ a small thing that fixes most amateur-looking markup. The privacy order of operations matters: blur the sensitive bits FIRST, annotate second, so labels never point at secrets. Dress the result for posting with the beautifier; freehand thinking on a blank page is the whiteboard.

Pick the T tool and click where the label belongs โ a prompt takes the text, and it renders bold with a white halo so it reads on any background.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes โ undo removes shapes one at a time, newest first; Clear starts the markup over. The underlying screenshot is never touched.
Why do my annotations look thin on big screenshots?
They won't here โ stroke width scales with image resolution, the detail most annotation tools miss. A 4K capture gets proportionally heavier lines automatically.
Is the screenshot uploaded anywhere?
No โ loading, drawing and export all happen in your browser, which is worth caring about when the screenshot shows internal tools or customer data.
