PDF Link Extractor
List every link and email in a PDF, with page numbers.
About this tool
Drop in a PDF to list its clickable links plus web addresses and emails written in the text, each with the pages it appears on; copy the list or download it as a CSV spreadsheet.
Finding links in a PDF
PDFs hold links in two ways: clickable link annotations, which can show any text while pointing somewhere else, and addresses simply written in the text. This tool collects both, labels where each came from, and merges duplicates so a link repeated on ten pages appears once with all ten page numbers. That's useful for checking a report or ebook for broken or outdated links before publishing, auditing where a document sends readers, collecting the references and sources from a paper, or pulling email contacts from a brochure. Hidden link targets are worth checking, because the visible text of a link doesn't have to match where it goes. Honest limits: scanned PDFs have no text to search unless they've been through OCR, addresses broken across lines may be cut short, and the tool lists links without visiting them, so it can't tell whether they still work. The PDF OCR tool makes scans searchable, and the PDF word count tool is related.
Frequently asked questions
Does it find links that aren't clickable?
Yes. Web addresses and emails written in the text are found too and labelled as text.
Does it check whether the links work?
No. It lists them without visiting them, so nothing is sent to those sites.
Why are no links found in my scanned PDF?
Scans are images with no text layer. Run them through OCR first.
Can I open the list in a spreadsheet?
Yes. Download the CSV, which has the URL, its pages and where it was found.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and processed in your browser on this device; nothing is uploaded or stored.
