Eight pads, eight classic drum voices, zero samples: every hit is synthesised the instant you strike — keys QWER and ASDF map the two rows, pads take taps and clicks, and it's fully polyphonic, so flams and simultaneous hits land naturally.

How drums are built from math

These are the recipes analogue drum machines made famous: the kick is a sine wave diving in pitch (150→45 Hz in a tenth of a second); the snare is filtered noise over a 190 Hz thump; hats are high-passed noise, short for closed and ringing for open; toms are pitch-bending tones; the clap is three noise bursts milliseconds apart (a crowd, not a hand); and the cowbell — famously — is two detuned square waves, exactly as the 808 built it. Synthesis beats samples here for latency (nothing to load) and for honesty: you can read this page and know precisely what your ears get. Practice angle: put the metronome underneath and drill eighth-note hats with backbeat snare — the pattern under most of pop — or find a song's tempo with the BPM counter and play along.
