Business Name Generator

Brandable business name ideas from your keywords: blends, compounds and more.

About this tool

Type one to three keywords about what you do or what you stand for, and pick a style: modern, friendly, nature, premium or bold. The tool generates dozens of name ideas using different naming techniques, each labelled with how it was made. Filter by type and length, shuffle for a fresh set, and star favourites to copy them.

How good business names are made

Naming agencies use a handful of techniques, and this generator uses the same ones. Blends (portmanteaus) fuse two words into one, as Pinterest did with pin and interest. Suffixes and prefixes turn a keyword into a brand, as in Bakely, Bakeify, GetBread or TryBake. Compounds pair your keyword with an evocative word that sets the mood: HoneyBake feels friendly, AtlasBake premium, RocketBake bold. Alliteration (Bright Bread) is easy to remember. Classic forms like "Bake & Co" or "Bread Studio" sound established, and respellings can make a common word ownable, but they're harder to spell when someone hears them. What makes a name good? It should be short and easy to say, spell and type after hearing it once. It should hint at what you do or how you want people to feel without boxing you into one product. It should look good written down and work as a domain and social handle. Say your shortlist aloud, try it on a few potential customers, and imagine it on a sign and an invoice. Honest limits: these are ideas, not checked names. Before you commit, search for the domain and social handles, check your country's trademark register (and Companies House in the UK) for conflicts, and make sure the name doesn't mean something unfortunate in another language. The slogan generator, the acronym generator and the logo maker are related.

Frequently asked questions

How do I come up with a business name?

Start from keywords about what you do and how you want customers to feel, then try blends, suffixes, compounds and alliteration. Shortlist names that are easy to say and spell.

Does this check if the name or domain is available?

No. It works offline in your browser. Check domains, social handles and trademark registers yourself before deciding.

How long should a business name be?

Shorter is usually better. Names of up to about 10โ€“12 letters are easier to remember and type.

Are my keywords saved?

No. Names are generated in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
